My Mad Fat Diary par Rae Earl.
Once again, the English did it with My Mad Fat Diary. It's about Rae, 16, obese, who has spent several months in a psychiatric hospital. Her mother said to her best friend Chloe that she was on vacation in France. Nobody is aware of the difficulties of Rae. Neither Chop or Archie or Izzy or Finn, her new friends, the "gang".
Rae wants to be like everyone else. She wants to have friends, be in love, have sex. The series is funny, honest, true. Probably because it is based on an autobiographical book, My Mad Fat Diary by Rae Earl.
This series is moving and gives a point of view that I had never seen in a series before, that of an obese teenager who has the same desires as other adolescents and expects the same life as anyone. It's feels good!
The second season is currently airing in England and I cross my fingers for a third!
